Report of the Junior Lawyers Against Poverty Meeting, University of Nairobi

Members of Junior Lawyers Against Poverty, University of Nairobi, met up for a hangout session on the 18th of December 2021 at the Nairobi Arboretum.

The hangout was initiated to enable the members to meet up and get to know each other, since past efforts have been thwarted by the pandemic as well as school commitments.

Due to conflicting school schedules and the closeness to the Christmas season, only four members were able to make it to the hangout. In spite of that, we had a very interactive session with team building activities where we bonded and enjoyed each other’s company. We also had the Managing Editor at ‘The Platform Magazine’ in attendance who addressed us on the importance of writing pursuant to our hangout theme, “Writing Change into Existence”.  This is under our pilot program, Writer’s Lab, Parklands, which is meant to encourage writing among students.
