JLAP hosts annual conference of participants

Junior Lawyers Against Poverty representatives from 6 universities joined forces at the London offices of Latham & Watkins. They met to discuss their on-going projects on legal education, poverty relief, refugee support and to engage in dialogue on how best they can support and assist each other, in particular with collaborative approaches to fundraising for the Justice Fund.

Guest speakers included the International Law Book Facility, who inspired our junior members to recycle their old law books, the Latham & Watkins Pro Bono Team who spoke to students about ways they can continue to build work on access to justice into a career in corporate law, and AngloAmerican who led a discussion on Business and Human Rights and the role of the in-house counsel.

We look forward to meeting more JLAP students at our next annual event!
